Cost-Effectiveness of Quadrivalent Versus Trivalent Influenza Vaccination in the Dutch National Influenza Prevention Program

چکیده

ObjectivesAs of 2019, quadrivalent influenza vaccine (QIV) has replaced trivalent (TIV) in the national immunization program The Netherlands. Target groups are individuals 60+ years age and those with chronic diseases. objective was to estimate incremental break-even price QIV over TIV at a threshold €20 000 per quality-adjusted life-year (QALY).MethodsAn age-structured compartmental dynamic model adapted for Netherlands assess health outcomes associated costs vaccinating all higher risk instead seasons 2010 2018. Influenza incidence rates were derived from global database. Other parameters (probabilities, QALYs costs) extracted literature applied according Dutch guidelines. A QALY prices versus TIV. Sensitivity analyses performed test robustness outcomes.ResultsRetrospectively, vaccination could have prevented on average 9500 symptomatic cases, 2130 outpatient visits, 84 hospitalizations, 38 deaths year This translates into 385 398 life-years potentially gained. On average, totals €431 527 direct €2 388 810 indirect been saved each year.ConclusionUsing during 2018 would cost-effective an maximally €3.81 (95% confidence interval, €3.26-4.31). analysis showed consistent findings same range.

The Clinical Impact and Cost Effectiveness of Quadrivalent Versus Trivalent Influenza Vaccination in Finland

BACKGROUND Trivalent influenza vaccines encompass one influenza B lineage; however, predictions have been unreliable on which of two antigenically distinct circulating lineages will dominate. Quadrivalent seasonal influenza vaccines contain strains from both lineages. This analysis assesses the cost effectiveness of switching from trivalent inactivated influenza vaccination (TIV) in Finland to ...

Cost-effectiveness analysis of quadrivalent influenza vaccine versus trivalent influenza vaccine for elderly in Hong Kong

BACKGROUND Cost and quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs) gained by quadrivalent influenza vaccine (QIV) versus trivalent influenza vaccine (TIV) in Hong Kong elderly were estimated over 9 seasons. METHODS TIV-unmatched influenza B infection rates with QIV versus TIV were estimated by an epidemiology model. Model parameters included percentages of influenza B lineages in circulation, influenza ...

Cost-effectiveness of seasonal quadrivalent versus trivalent influenza vaccination in the United States: A dynamic transmission modeling approach

Trivalent inactivated influenza vaccines (IIV3s) protect against 2 A strains and one B lineage; quadrivalent versions (IIV4s) protect against an additional B lineage. The objective was to assess projected health and economic outcomes associated with IIV4 versus IIV3 for preventing seasonal influenza in the US. A cost-effectiveness model was developed to interact with a dynamic transmission mode...

Cost effectiveness of influenza vaccination for specific populations in Iran

Introduction: Influenza viruses are the major respiratory pathogens worldwide and high-risk groups such as healthcare workers may develop severe forms of the disease. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of influenza vaccination for 4 target groups including pregnant women, elderly people (aged over 65 years), healthcare workers and school-age children in Iran. Metho...

The economic value of a quadrivalent versus trivalent influenza vaccine.

The recently licensed quadrivalent seasonal influenza vaccine (QIV) may provide better protection than the traditional trivalent influenza vaccine (TIV) as it includes one more influenza B strain. We developed a Monte Carlo simulation model to determine the economic value of a QIV compared to the TIV for 10 influenza seasons (1999-2009). The addition of the influenza B strain to convert the TIV...
